limentional Devlog 14: Difficult difficult, lemon difficult

Hello everyone,

I've been working on introducing some difficulty settings, both to make the game more accessible to those who just want to chill and explore, but also like a bit more of a challenge. The settings are:

  • r e l a x - double the number of checkpoints, giving the game a more forgiving experience and allowing you to explore.
  • s t r e s s - the original design of three checkpoints for a bit more of a challenge.
  • p a n i c - no additional checkpoints, you have to complete each level without any help.

The main menu should reflect this, telling whether you've completed each level on either difficulty, as well as recording your best time for that level, if you are so interested.

A number of small fixes in addition include

  • a restart button for each level, in case you want that perfect level time
  • an out of whack reflection probe in "lights"
  • a water/fail collider poking through the waterfall room in "water"
  • fixed the player height in "welcome" so that crouch doesn't keep triggering
  • altered the speed you have to achieve before being able to slide, stopping slide-spamming
  • you may notice a few extra visual tweaks here and there

Thanks to all for your support and feedback.

Yours Truly,

Battle Stag

I just found this game by looking through devlogs and I am really liking it how it looks so far. Even listened to the composer you linked on the page, really great stuff. Is it OK to make a gameplay/Let's play video of this, and if so, would there be any restrictions or such?

Hello! That's great news :) thanks to all the help, the game is probably in the best shape its ever been so far. You're more than welcome to make a video, I can't think of any restrictions.

I may be changing the aesthetics a little bit soon, and am thinking of adding an ability you unlock for finding the collectibles. So expect more changes soon!
